Aubrey Zimmerman is May 2010 advertising and public relations graduate of Michigan State University's College of Communication Arts & Sciences. She spent a summer abroad at the American University of Rome in Italy where she studied international advertising and got a first-hand look at the industry while attending the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Zimmerman currently works for the Lansing Regional Chamber as the marketing and communications manager.
Along with her duties at the Chamber, Zimmerman volunteers for several Greater Lansing organizations which include Keep Learning… Our Future Depends on It!, Grand River Connection and Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America.
Zimmerman was a member of the MSU Public Relations Student Society of America for three years, where she served as secretary and vice president of professional development. From the 125 PRSSA members, she was chosen to participate on the Bateman Case Study Competition team of only five. The Bateman team designed a complete public relations campaign for the 2010 U.S. Census and received honorable mention with a score of 92/100.
In her time at MSU, Zimmerman worked as the fundraising/ event development intern at Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region. There she wrote and edited letters, grant proposals and news releases, while organizing and managing three major fundraisers for the non-profit agency. Zimmerman was an intern at Lambert, Edwards & Associates, a public relations firm serving from coast-to-coast in Michigan. At LE&A she worked on media relations, established social media tactics for clients, and worked closely on public affairs campaigns.
Zimmerman also stayed involved in the community through her job at the Breslin Student Events Center. At Breslin she served as the usher staff director where her leadership skills were put to excellent use managing more than 200 student ushers on an event-by-event basis.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, staying active through spin classes and running, and keeping up with current pop culture trends.
