Aubrey Zimmerman: Public Relations Professional

Ari B. Adler, Professional Communicator and PRSSA Advisor

I have known Aubrey for several years now. During this time, I have interacted with her as an intern at the a public relations firm and as the professional advisor for the Michigan State University Public Relations Student Society of America. I have always found Aubrey to be a good worker who focuses on getting the job done in a quality manner within the time allotted.

She is committed to expanding her education, improving her communications skills and advancing the PR profession as a whole. Her dedication to the task at hand and her indomitable spirit are key factors in what I'm sure will be a bright career in public relations.

Lindsay Bacigalupo, 2010 Bateman Case Study Director

Aubrey is the kind of teammate that you are grateful to have. I worked with her on the 2010 Bateman campaign for the U.S. Census, and was constantly impressed by her skills and dedication. Aubrey was a major source of motivation and creativity behind our campaign, and always pushed the team to continue to improve upon our work. A perfectionist at heart, Aubrey's writing skills demonstrate her attention to detail. She is a fantastic person and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Henry Balanon, Bickbot, Inc.

The best part about Aubrey is that she was a public relations pro before she even graduated college. There are very few like her: She's great at writing, great at connecting, and has the ability to engage with anybody and everybody. It was a pleasure working with her and I look forward to my next opportunity to do work with her again.

Andy Corner, MSU Advertising/PR Instructor

Aubrey Zimmerman was a terrific student. Focused, inquisitive, assertive, tenacious and diligent. I had the chance to work with her as her instructor in two classes and as her adviser on MSU's 2010 Bateman Team. She was a continuous delight. She brought her A Game to class every day, was pivotal to the success of the Bateman team, and demonstrated professionalism and maturity beyond her years. You'll be sorry if you don't hire her.

Emily Gerkin-Palsrok, Lambert, Edwards & Associates

The FABULOUS Aubrey Zimmerman. That' what I call her. And she's earned it. It's not just that she's fabulous in her own right, with her witty personality and sparkling charm, but she was hands-down a fabulous intern for us at Lambert, Edwards & Associates.

Aubrey worked for us in the fall of 2009, helping out with the Campaign for Smokefree Air, the statewide childhood obesity coalition Healthy Kids Healthy Michigan, with out fall Michigan's Harvest Gathering campaign for the Food Bank Council of Michigan and pitching numerous media stories for a variety of clients. Sure, intern work can be pretty dull sometimes phone work, running errands and providing staffing support when needed. But because Aubrey can write, and write well I might add, we were able to give her more assignments and involve her in diverse projects. It was a win-win: we got the extra help on client work we needed and she got some great hands-on experience to take with her to her next job (and the very fortunate, smart people who hire her!).

She was never shy with ideas (this blog alone is a pretty cool one!). Most important to me, she embraced the role that I thrust upon her to hand-hold me through some social media challenges that I admittedly needed help with. She became the teacher, and I her student.

Lastly, something I have been even more impressed with since she left our firm, Aubrey understands and thrives on the importance of networking. I see her at PRSA events, MSU outings and around town. She's interesting enough to me, and has enough to share, that I still follow her on Twitter. I've picked up three great articles on writing styles and social media marketing in the last week from her.

Meet her. Talk to her. You'll see she's FABULOUS.
